Possibly a past alert that had been stuck somehow and delivered weeks after it was sent. I'm thinking this is a glitch on Apple's side of things. I have two-factor authentication and a very complex password.
There were no messages indicating a new computer / device had logged-in with my Apple ID.
The problem is that the volume control for alerts and ringtones is rather hidden in the depths of the iOS / iPhone configuration. After a five-second delay, the device plays a sound. If the device is an iPhone, it also vibrates. If the missing iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch (iOS 12.1.1 or later) is online, a Find My device alert appears on the device's screen.

On Bluetooth it shows up as connectable but without a name and no additional information. It would be impossible to implement a similar UI without support from iOS that they do not have access to. In fact set up was so easy that Tile absolutely has a case.
